SFMC Marketing Cloud - App Setup Instructions

App Installation From App Exchange

  1. Login to Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  2. On successful login, click on the AppExchange from Menu

  1. On the AppExchange page, search for “SMS-Magic for Salesforce Marketing Cloud” and navigate to the app page.

  1. Click on “Get it Now” button to install the app into your org.
  2. It will take you to the App Installation Page and in the page click on the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions page and then click on the “Visit Provider” button.

  1. Once you click on the “Visit Provider” button, you will be taken to the Installation Page of the app as shown below

  1. Click on the “Install” button and you will get a popup to agree and click on “Agree” button from the popup.

  1. Once the app is installed, you will be shown this page where you can provide access to the app.

  1. Click on “License All Users” to provide access to all licensed users in the org and click on “License All” button in the popup.

  1. Once all the steps are done, you should be able to see the “SMS Magic(Powered by Conversive) for Marketing Cloud” app in the Installed Packages option under the Apps in Setup.

Additional Steps for Deploying packages

  1. Download the JSON given below and store it in a local directory on your system:

Download -SMS-Magic Package JSON

  1. Now navigate to Package Manager from the Platform Menu item on the home page of Marketing Cloud.
  2. Click on the “Deployment” option from the Package Manager and click on Deploy button.

  1. Inside the “Deployed Packages->New Install” screen, click on the “Upload” button.

  1. Select the JSON file that you stored by downloading from Step 1 in Additional steps section.
  2. Once the package is uploaded, click on “Next” button

  1. After clicking the “Next” button, you should see a list of objects with a “Deploy” button on the page, click on the “Deploy” button to deploy the package.

  1. After clicking the “Deploy” button, you should see a “Done” button with a successful message for Package deployment.

  1. Click on “Done” button to close the Package deployment.

  1. Once deployment of package is done successfully, Click on the “Contact Builder” below the “Audience Builder” menu item on the home page.

  1. Click on “Data Extensions” tab on the “Contact Builder” screen.

  1. Navigate to the “Shared Data Extensions” from the left side tree on the “Data Extensions” screen

  1. Click on the “SMSMagicData” on the right side and you should see the Edit screen as shown below:

  1. Copy the value from the Name textbox and Paste into the External Key text box and click on Done.

  1. Repeat the same steps of copying the value from the Name textbox to the External Key textbox for the other 2 data extensions:

    1. SMSMagicData_Messages_History
    2. SMSMagicData_Configuration

  2. Once the Editing is done, you should see the same name and the external key for the 3 data extensions as shown below
